About Marissa

I work with young children, adolescents, and families who are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, executive functioning, trauma, ADHD, behavioral challenges, social skills, and family transitions.

I create a welcoming and safe space for clients to express and learn about themselves through the use of play, art, mindfulness, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I believe that forming a strong judgement-free partnership is the basis for positive change and that therapy, although challenging at times, should be engaging and fun. I also recognize that treatment is not a “cookie-cutter” solution and prioritize working together to determine what is best for each individual client. I understand that you are the expert of your own (or your child’s) life, and I am here to provide support and help you achieve your personal goals.

Prior to working at the Mindful Heart, I provided outpatient mental health services to children and adults in Baltimore City and interned in the Johns Hopkins Hospital pediatric department. I have also coordinated and coached multiple social skills and executive functioning groups and worked as a Registered Behavior Technician for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

When I am not working, I enjoy traveling, cooking, exploring new coffee shops, and spending time with family and friends.
