About Amber

In our fast-paced world, it can be tempting to just keep scrolling and hope that things will eventually slow down and work out. I believe in helping my clients live their lives with intention and purpose. I will work with you to identify your hopes, goals, and strengths so that every day feels meaningful and your life doesn’t just pass you by.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families. Most recently, I was a counselor in both elementary and middle schools for eight years in Washington, D.C. where I provided mental health services for children between the ages of 3 and 16. I have expertise in helping families navigate 504 and IEP processes in schools as well as advocating for the best supports.

I studied psychology at University of Virginia and have my Masters in School Counseling from George Washington University. As a former art teacher and reading teacher, I often incorporate books and creativity into therapy work. I teach both concrete tools to support my clients in their daily living as well as provide a safe container for clients to explore parts of themselves they want to learn more about.

As a mother of three, I know intimately the stressors of prenatal, postpartum life, and parenthood. I have completed coursework from Postpartum Support International to learn how to support families during their journey of bringing new life into the world.

Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, hiking, being in nature, creating art, and spending time with my family and three boys.
